Ivy guard Stir fry/Kovakka Mezhukkupuratti



            This is a very yummy stir fry recipe. This is very common  dish in south India and  is usually eaten with steamed rice.

Ingredients and Measurements Needed


  • 1/2 kilo- Ivy Guards
  • 1/8 th of an Onion or some shallots
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder or crushed chili
  • 2 tsp oil
  • salt required

Method


  1. Cut ivy guards into small pieces .
  2. Chop onion or shallots into small pieces
  3. Now heat a pan and add oil into it .
  4. Then add the onions/shallots into it and saute for some time.
  5. Now add the cut Ivy guards and give it a stir.
  6. Then cover the pan and cook it for 5 minutes .
  7. Keep mixing the fry in regular intervals in these 5 minutes.
  8. Now add salt,turmeric powder and chili powder and mix well.
  9. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes without closing the lid.
  10. Now switch off the flame and transfer it into a serving plate.
  11. Serve this dish with steamed rice.
