Ivy guard Stir fry/Kovakka Mezhukkupuratti
This is a very yummy stir fry recipe. This is very common dish in south India and is usually eaten with steamed rice.
Ingredients and Measurements Needed
- 1/2 kilo- Ivy Guards
- 1/8 th of an Onion or some shallots
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder or crushed chili
- 2 tsp oil
- salt required
Method
- Cut ivy guards into small pieces .
- Chop onion or shallots into small pieces
- Now heat a pan and add oil into it .
- Then add the onions/shallots into it and saute for some time.
- Now add the cut Ivy guards and give it a stir.
- Then cover the pan and cook it for 5 minutes .
- Keep mixing the fry in regular intervals in these 5 minutes.
- Now add salt,turmeric powder and chili powder and mix well.
- Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes without closing the lid.
- Now switch off the flame and transfer it into a serving plate.
- Serve this dish with steamed rice.
