Long Beans Stir Fry/Payaru Mezhukkupuratti
This is a very easy stir fry recipe. In South India,it's usually eaten with steamed rice.
Ingredients and Measurements Needed
- 1 hand full of Long Beans
- 7 or 8 Shallots or 1 small onion
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 to 1 tsp crushed chili
- 2 tsp oil
- salt required
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
Method
- Wash and cut the beans into small pieces .
- Crush the shallots.
- Now heat some oil in a pan.
- Add crushed shallots and saute well until its done.
- Add crushed chilies and mix well.
- After that add the cut long beans and mix again.
- Add turmeric powder ,salt and give it a stir.
- After one minute pour the lukewarm water into the pan and stir well.
- Now close the lid and let it cook for 8 to 10 minutes in low flame.
- Do not forget to stir at regular intervals.
- Now open the lid and cook until all the remaining water is evaporated.
- Tasty payaru mezhukkupuratti is ready to serve!
