Gobi/Cauliflower Manchurian
Ingredients and Measurements
To make the batter for floret marination
- 4 tbsp all purpose Flour
- 4 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tbsp Rice flour
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2-1 tsp pepper powder
- salt as required
To make the Manchurian
- 3-4 Cloves- Garlic
- 1/2 inch- Ginger
- 3 or 4 nos-Green chilies
- Vegetable Oil
- 1 or 2 Spring Onion
- 2 Onions
- 1 Capsicum
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp Sweet chilly sauce
- 2 cup Lukewarm water
- 1 tsp Corn flour
- salt as required
Method
- Clean the cauliflower and cut into small florets.
- Mix all purpose flour,rice flour,corn flour,pepper powder,soy sauce with some water to make a smooth batter.Add salt if required.
- Mix the prepared florets with the batter and keep it in fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Now Chop the spring onion,ginger,garlic ,green chilies and 1 onion into small pieces.Keep some spring onions for garnishing.
- Cut the capsicum and 1 onion into big cubes and keep it aside.
- Now heat oil in a pan and fry the florets batch by batch .
- Keep the prepared florets aside .
- Now heat a wok with 1 tbsp oil in it.
- Add the chopped garlic,ginger,green chilies and spring onion into it and saute well.
- Now add the chopped onion and saute until it's done.
- Then add the sauces and mix well for 30 sec.
- Now add the lukewarm water and let it boil.Check for salt and add if required.
- Then mix 1 tsp of corn flour with some water and add that paste into the pan and mix well.
- Let it cook for 2 minutes.Keep it mixing with spoon all the time.
- Lower the flame when the gravy gets desired consistency.
- Now add the fried florets and mix well.All the florets should cover with the gravy.
- After that add the capsicum and onion cubes and mix well .Then turn off the flame.
- Sprinkle some spring onion on top.
- Cauliflower manchurian is ready!
