Aval Vilayichathu/Flattered rice snack




This is a very popular evening snack  usually serve  with tea/coffee.It is a very easy to make this recipe.

Ingredients and Measurements Needed


  • 2 cup- Flattered rice/Aval
  • 1 table spoon-Sesame seeds(black) 
  • 1 cup-Grated Jaggery
  • 1 cup-Grated Coconut
  • 1tsp-Ghee(optional)
Method


  1. Roast the sesame seeds in ghee in a pan and keep it aside but it's optional we can use it without roasting also.
  2. Melt jaggery with 1/2 cup water until it becomes slightly thick.
  3. Strain the melted jaggery mixture into a pan.
  4. Now heat the pan and add grated coconut into it.
  5. When the mixture starts to bubble/boil,add the flattered rice into it and mix well using a spatula .
  6. Now turn off the heat.
  7. Then add the sesame seeds and ghee mix well.
  8. Transfer the prepared snack into a serving plate.
  9. Serve with ripened banana slices(optional).
